We hope that after reading any of the poems here, you will find a simple charity and send them at least one dollar to support them. The poets, the host of this blog, and anyone who contributes does not profit at all financially, we simply profit by knowing that people may read our works, be inspired, and want to change the world because of it. Here is one promotional video for one of the Charities we suggest on this site “WorldVision”.

If I were in charge of America
I’d cancel weapons,
people being cruel,
and taxes.

If I were in charge of America
there’d be peace,
people to make you happy,
and memorial day everyday.

If I were in charge of America,
You wouldn’t have war,
poor people,
and people living on the streets.

If I were in charge of America,
you would have recyling cans at every house,
and free American flags,
flown at every house.

The Essence of Love

When the days are long and the nights are dark,
And the life of a loved one has left its mark,
We look to the light of each new day,
And hope some spark will light the way.

The sun still shines and seasons flow,
And in our hearts we’ll always know
That Love is Eternal and never dies,
We’ve seen it in our loved one’s eyes.

So, to honor the memory of one so dear,
We continue our journey, until it’s clear
That Love lives on in all we do,
As we reach out to others, to help them too.

That all we are and hope to be, can make us strong
And set our hearts free.

By Cecilia Stevens

In memory of my husband, Melvin Stevens
December 20, 1923 to November 4, 2010
“Forever in my heart”

LOOKING BACK
BY
YVONNE JENKINS

In my younger years
an emotional mess,
Mental, sexual, physical abuse,
How could I be blessed?

A loving daddy
I thought I knew,
But the love he gave
was not so true.

So many crossed signals of affection,
shattered my being,
becoming disconnected.

I created a world of happiness
locking away all the pain
but it times it would rear its ugly head,
Until the tears fell down like rain.

I always felt so all alone,
No one could ever see,
The fear of footsteps at my door,
and no one to rescue me.

I closed my eyes as the door slowly opened,
Knowing who was there,
Praying real hard it would soon be over
It was more than I could bare.

My voice is muffled
by pain and fear,
Tears fill up my eyes,
Do daddys do this to all little girls
And do they ever hear their cries?

Life goes on and I’m older now
My dad is in his grave,
But God has never forgotten me,
My life He wants to save!

He put me through fiery trials
One that burned for many years,
To bring me out as pure as gold,
And wash away my fears.

The dysfunction that was in my life
Was the major key,
To bring me where I am today
To finally set me free.

So now I look back in time
Not seeing such a mess,
For all things are used by God,
And Yes, I am truly blessed!!

Never judge a thing before it’s time. To believe that you’re situation will not improve is as believing someone who is lying. The seed is buried in a deep dark terrible hole, it is forgotten, where it is no one knows. But the gardener doesn’t worry whether or not the seed will grow. Just because nothing seems to be happening, the flower and fruit of the seed, time will soon show. So have faith everyone and HOLD ON!

A life torn apart, a broken heart so much pain, the person tried to gain approval but only found peace and hopes removal. Now alone thinking of what to do next only to find the harder they tried the bigger the mess. So the person dug deep, the meaning of life did seek, “why oh why?” the person cried until growing tired and found it better to rest then to try and be the best. That was when life was no longer a mess!

When you feel you don’t belong and don’t know how everything went terribly wrong. Step back and relax. When all the dust has settled and you get your peace back then you’ll see it all had to be. Because everything works together you see. So be quick to love and forgive, trust the plan, remember you won’t always understand but everything leads us to the promise land!

When was the last time you took the time to simply look at the sky? Or the last time you stood outside, took a breath, closed your eyes to let your mind rest? So used to worrying about that or this, always on the run, we’ve forgotten how to fun. There always something standing in our way. But if we choose to say, “I’m going to live today!” we’d find ourselves like children enjoying a world of play

As children none of us KNEW SIN until we were TAUGHT and CONVINCED we were bad to begin. Dead in trespasses we were TOLD, slaves to condemnation and religion sold. They drove their traditions, fears, and beliefs into our head like a crown of thorns. Nailed our feet and hands in place so we could never be more. “God why have you forsaken me?” we all have cried but Religion Lied. So give up that ghost and rise

I know you’re hurting and think this is how it will always be. I know you’re overwhelmed, scared you’ll never be free. I know you’ve been betrayed and feel lost. But you no loner need to pay this cost. In your tears and heartache you’ve never been alone. So, please let it all go, forgive and live, know everything will be okay, know someone loves you even if it’s someone on facebook far away and enjoy your friday.

Some days are harder than others for sure. When the bills pile, the kids are riled and you’re tired just take a breath and endure. The bus will come and then you can have fun. As far as your debt just pay some. Always leave room for a life that is enjoyable not one that is always has you on the run. So today, just pray you can put frustration and worry away and remember the best part of the day is yet to come

                                     NEVER, EVER, GIVE UP!
by
Fran Dyer

The death rattle has begun
That will bring forth the SON
The soul man writhing and twisting in agony
The fall of Babylon is the key

…The death process if far from fun
And leaves one visibly undone
However to the garden one must go
Friends are sleeping and it has to be so

One must learn to look to the end
Death here means birth of life
A Renewed Mind
That will end ALL strife

So the death process….do not fear
Learn to embrace it….and hold it dear
For a sweet smelling fragrance is coming forth
To fill this earth and eventually the SEA

THE MASTERPIECE

With crayons in hand and paper beneath
The young girl creates her beautiful masterpiece

With blotches of yellow, black, blue, and red all over the place
With scraggily hair, eyes that don’t match and an oblong face
A sky that is purple and grass that is brown
A nose colored so red, it would be better suited for a clown

The child draws with nothing but her imagination around
It is a gift for her father, to turn his frown upside down

Without the ability to spell, there are three x’s and three o’s for Daddy to see
A token of her love and appreciation this great masterpiece will be

The child does not worry that she cannot spell or draw straight lines
She does not care if her composition is lacking and is she appears color blind

Her art is her gift and she knows it will make Daddy smile
Times have been hard, he’s lost job and been out of work for awhile

She didn’t feel pressured to be perfect, or worried she might not succeed
She only wanted to show Daddy that he is all she will ever need

He sits at a table swallowed by bills,
His head hangs low and is very still

She takes her picture to him and holds it out with great care
“Daddy, I made this for you” she says with a wide eyed stare

Like a fire lit in his eyes, he takes her gift and to his surprise
After looking at this picture he suddenly began to cry
In that moment there was something that he realized
He may have bills, he may struggles, but he has something money could never buy
He held the picture to his heart, and Daddy finally smiled

I know the plans I have for you
I know your every care
I know the plans I have for you
And all My love to share

For this is what I’m all about
The love of God to man
Simply giving Me your life
To teach you all I can

About the plans I have for you
About the blood I shed
About the hurting people
And the multitudes I fed

I came to feed the hungry
To set the captives free
All I simply ask of you
Is to give your life to me

Love,
Jesus

Below are a bunch of short poems, I wrote over the last couple of months each day. Read one a day, and I pray they will make a difference in your day! Jacob
www.JacobIsrael.org -Check out my novel!

THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY!

The prison they were in had bars they called sin, but were nothing more then the foolish things they believed in. All hope seemed lost to the prisoners paying this cost, until a fellow prisoner shared a great truth with them all. The bars did shake as the earth quaked and every shackle fell away. The question was, would they make their way to freedom or would they stay.

One voice can change things, re-arrange things, make others hear the truth that rings. “Love one another!” the herald cries, with a shout cutting through the lies, making friends of those who despise one another, even though they are sister and brother. Can’t you see what we do to others, we do to ourselves? Can’t you see heaven’s in your grasp but you choose hell? When we do this, then all will be well!

Make believe with me. Picture yourself happy and free. Living your life the way you want it to be. No more worries, no fear, no trouble, only peace . Happy at work, at home, with family or alone, regardless of where you roam, imagination is the key you see. It’s all in your power if you’d only believe and leave your past behind you for forgiveness, hope, faith, and possibility.

Soft words always calm a hot tongue. Hate and anger, forgiveness will always trump. We may at times, have disagreements for no reason or rhyme but remember these are but signs to remind us to take the right path instead of wrong. When you do this, you’ll find your fights and arguments won’t last for long.

The man had a plan to bring his life to its end. Fifty years without a friend. Disfigured from birth, ignored, abhorred, and worse. He drove to the bridge to jump from its highest pitch. But his tire went flat. He cried at that. Then a knock at the window, “Hello friend, let’s get you back on the road.” A simple act of kindness showed. The man smiled, changed his mind, and went back home.

A tree overshadowed by other trees is starved of light and loses its fruit and leaves. It dries and slowly dies and becomes a tree despised. The tree that stands alone, birds soon make it home, never stunted it continues to grow, the sun and rain it intimately knows. The same is true for you, don’t allow yourself beneath another’s shoe. Be a leader, a follower never be, and grow like strongest and tallest of trees.

Does it matter what people think of you? Does a bad report hurt even if it isn’t true? Does reputation mean a thing when recalling all the good you do? Many fear what they don’t understand, this is why they attack, mock, gossip, and raise their fists instead of an extended hand. A flower doesn’t become a weed just because there are so many weeds in the land. Be who you are and see the greater plan.

I don’t like to think of those who don’t love themselves. I don’t like to think of those lost in their personal hell. I don’t like to think of the suffering, starving and worse. I don’t like to think of book burning, hate mongering, prejudice, and people putting themselves first. But if I don’t, I cannot build up, comfort, feed, inspire, and show love to all of these, I don’t like to think about, who truly hurt

Look in the mirror what do you see? A beautiful, loved person, who is free? Or is it worse? Do you think your life’s a curse? Well, if you do, you’re not alone, at times, many people in their skin don’t always feel at home. But this will pass, only the truth of who you are lasts. So, look past the painful mask and let you light shine. Soon you’ll see, like the pearl, you’re priceless, because of all your hard times.

As the seasons change, as there are days of sun, wind and rain, our lives are the same. Things aren’t always easy that’s true, but don’t let a bad season undo everything you’ve built by giving up and saying you’re through. Some things are worth the fight, you don’t have to always be right, so put down your fists, drop the mud to your side and remember the sun always rises after the darkest of nights

Shame is not a great teacher, guilt is not a great leader, condemnation will never help another to change. When you put down, you bring down and will never find different results. You’ll only push the other further away. You may be unhappy with how things are, but if you look to the good and build on that, happy is how you will always stay.

The pain and shame will remain the same and continue for you until love yourself and others, this is true. Your self hate you create but then debate it’s the fault of others and believe they you must dominate to feel great. Everyone else is always at fault, everyone else is the problem you say. But this is simply the mind game you play. The problem is you, you need to grow up and love and get out of your own way.

While the fear and hate mongers condemn in God’s name those who don’t remain with the ignorant they tamed. A remnant won’t do the same. While they shout burn, burn, you atheists, fags, druggies, and those who haven’t learned the scriptures they twist and turn. A remnant won’t do the same. While they tear down the Remnant around will love and build where they killed. This Remnant will never do the same.

The more we hope the more we shine. The more we seek the more we find. The more we forgive the more we live. The more we lift other the higher we will go. The more we overcome the more we emotionally and spiritually grow. The more we learn the more negative thoughts we discard. The harder our journey the greater the reward. Live for more and true happiness won’t be far.

We see many ruling wickedly, stealing from us, acting irresponsibly. Making us more like slaves than free. They don’t care how much we’ve lost because WE pay the cost. White collar crime robs us blind. While religious leaders, those bottom feeders pick our bones dry. They say you’ll be happy and well off, so long as you tithe. But God doesn’t want your money. He wants you to trust in Him and stop believing the lies

The sad seed felt alone, trapped in a hard shell, stepped on, put down to hell, buried in the dirt. “There is no place worse” the seed said, “I’d rather be dead. I’ve got no one, trapped away from the sun, can’t even run.” But, the seed didn’t know, the rain would come, it would grow to reach the sun and the greatest tree in the forest it’d become. Then it would thank God for all the hard days away from the sun

The disciples asked Christ, “Why are so many people born blind(ignorant, prejudiced). Is it “their” fault or their “parents” (religious fathers/mothers) fault they are this way?Christ said, “It is neither their fault nor their religious parents fault, it is so when they recieve their sight (Percieve God’s Truth) GOD IS GLORIFIED!”… So, Christ put mud in their eyes and said, GO GET CLEAN ALREADY! snicker snicker

We can be content in the here and now. Our present suffering shows us how. You’ll never find peace by changing jobs, friends, moving, of leaving a spouse. You must first figure out, how to love yourself in the here and now, and find who you REALLY are, a child of God, this is what life is all about. Then if change is what you need, you will change and succeed. Until then, anything you do will never bring you peace.

Be anxious for nothing, a wise man said. Take no thought for tomorrow focus on the here and now instead. Yet few can find such peace of mind, we’ve been conditioned to worry until we’re dead. But if you want out, if you want freedom from the negative thoughts swirling around in your head. Carry a paper and pen. Write down each worry your mind is fed, then cross it off and write the truth of hope instead!

Sculptors need only an unformed lump of clay. Painters need nothing but a canvas & paint. Children need only imagination to play. A carpenter, architect, and more understand what ideas are for. This morning use your imagination for more. Create your day the way you’d like. Don’t re-create worry, fear, or a fight. Look at life as an author looks at a blank sheet, create hopes, dreams and see all your possibilities!

Today I pray many find a way to say life is good, things are the way they should, we’ve done all we could, regret nothing and now can allow peace to ease our troubled heart. The cares of the world tear so many apart. I want to see this pain depart, to share hope not fear to make clear the sun will rise even though things seem dark. You’re not alone reading this at home. You have me if need be and that’s a good start

War, debt, fear, famine, drought, terror, disease, how can one bring healing to a world far from peace? How can one help those blinded by greed see the terrible need the world has for love, acceptance, and charity? How can one change raised fists of hate to the open arms of embrace? For one, perhaps a difficult task to reach the entire human race. So let’s start today and see the difference together WE ALL can make.

Dare to dream, dare to be everything you’ve wanted to be, daring to see all you’ve wanted to see. Be your biggest fan or worst enemy? Everything happens for you and me, you see. It wakes up and shakes up the greatest faith we’ve ever seen. With faith all things are possible when you believe. So, keep a stone of faith in hand for the giants in the land that say you can’t, then let them have it by saying “OH, YES I CAN!”

An exaggeration can be worse than an outright lie. It twists the truth right before people’s eyes. It can turn a loving heart into one that despises. Is there ever a reason make things sound worse, or make yourself sound better to enlarge your reputation or purse? How wicked we are, if we stretch the truth so far that even a bright light begins to appear dark. So today put exaggeration out of your heart!

How many have people against them for no good reason at all? How many have people who only want to see them fall? The world can be an ugly, nasty place but it can also be beautiful, kind and compassionate if you stay out of the rat race. Let them say or do what they want to do. God’s not mocked, they will reap what they’ve done to you. Instead of living in fear in dread, lift your head, choose life not death!

Today is not the day to be scared. Today is not the day to beware. Today is the day to be bold. Today it is faith and trust you must hold! So much weight you take upon ourselves, and it lands us all in hell. But our lives are laid out already. So during the storms stand strong and steady. It may seem God’s asleep at the wheel, but your deliverance only comes when you give up and allow God to steer.

God said come to the Mountain, know me. Israel said NO and didn’t go to be set free. Instead they said, Moses you go, tell us what God wants us to know. They put their faith in man instead of God and were rewarded with punishment, condemnation and list of impossible laws. They thought he’d bring them to the promise land, but only found forty years of hot sun and sand. PEOPLE stop putting your faith in Man!

Jibber, jabber, back and forth. Debating which God is right, which path is the right course. To war, first with words, then fists and stones, finally guns and bombs, till their beliefs stand alone. Tearing each other down to make others look like clowns, they fight and want the other is dead on the ground. Forget love, mercy, and grace, they erase anyone that stands in their beliefs way. This is how sad things are today.

“Why is my life filled with sorrow?” the pilgrim asked the wise sage. “It is because you have believed your life to be this way.” he replied with tears on his eyes. “I didn’t choose where I was born or the things that has happened to me” the pilgrim screamed. “But you chose how you reacted and this is why it continues this day. Change your thinking and things will go your way.”

There are those out for themselves who love to be boss. They hurt others and do not care the cost, they are lost. Insecure, in fear at whoever with greater gifts draws near. You cannot challenge their actions or put them in their place. The only way to be free from them is to erase all thoughts of revenge, pray for them as they fight for control. They are poor lost souls who forgot everyone reaps what they sow

To get attached to anything in life invites misery, loss and strife. To avoid the pain of rejection or failure understand life is change and everything doesn’t remain the same. Things won’t always go your way, but when life goes the way it may, keep your heartache at bay. If you lose your dream home, job, family or friends, remember it’s not the end. Instead find excitement for the new path your about to begin

Thank you illness for teaching me the strength of being weak. Poverty, so I know true wealth I never need seek. Mistakes, for teaching me right and wrong. Enemies, thanks for the great service you’ve done, without you I’d never forgive or live with compassion, love, and acceptance alone. Thank you, those who come against me, even if it’s just some. You are the tools used to create the masterpiece I’ve become.

The best thing about being ill is the thrill of finding your health again. It is then you realize the poor health you despised helped you find an appreciation for the simple things in life. Like taking a deep breath without a cough or wheeze, like standing tall without hurt in your knees, eating food without stomach pain, thank God for reminding us to truly enjoy and never take for granted the simple things.

People wish they could live life without suffering & strife. They wonder why they can’t find this, the reason is, they have been sold a lie. Many say, if you do that or this, than you’ll be free from those troubles, troubling you and me. But this is not the Truth you see. This is why we must look to pregnancy, its a process, it hurts and can be a mess, but when delivered you finally rest and things are at their best!

Many talk about the Spirit of God, Evil Spirits or Spirit of Man, but what “Spirit” is few understand. Well says, Jesus the man, “My Words are Spirit”, so I hope you hear it when I say “Spirit” are simply THE THOUGHTS of man. Thoughts become actions or words, scripture states “renew the spirit of our mind” haven’t you heard? Stop looking outside, choose only the SPIRIT of LIFE inside, and peace you’ll find.

Standing on the Edge

Peering into the abyss

As the earth slowly crumbles underfoot

Unnerving…….. Yet comforting

Strange…..yet familiar

Causing fear….yet intrigue

The space between

An intertwining of the conscious and the subconscious

A place where the worlds connect

And dreams become reality

A bridge that gaps the division of soul and spirit

Reminding us of our true identity

A place where angels speak

And reasoning slumbers

The space between
